Ok, I just got shown this Ustream thing and I got to say it is really one of the best ideas that I've seen in a while.
Here is my Ustream link. I highly recomend this for artists and bands.
I'm recording some of my existing tracks with my live band. We have all the drum tracks down now. doing the Bass for tomorrow and will be doin my horn and some vocals soon. should be ready for mixing in about a week.

I did a performance for this label that has been talkin to me. It went really well. They said they will have a contract to me with budgets and everything in 4 weeks.
So until then, I was told Westwood, Steve Sutherland got my radio promo today. expecting airplay hopefully in the next week. So LET THE BUZZ BEGIN!!!
Also sent some DVD footage of the last show to my manager in london. We will be doing some activity with that in the next few weeks too.
keepin ya posted!

Well, I met with the label last week on Wednesday. There seem to be some good promises. I wasn't really going expecting anything, but they want to sign me as their first signing.
They showed me their facilities in Southport. Yes, I said Southport! I thought all the labels were in London! lol
If everything is in the contract as they said, then I would be happy to take the deal. There are moving arrangements involved, advances, bla bla bla....
lets see what happens. In the meantime, the radio campaign will start next week. There have been a couple hang ups with it becuase of illnesses and cd manufacturers and pretty much everything else!
So, it will begin finally.
I have a meeting with a label tomorrow. They were a recommendation from a friend. I'm always open to talk and see if there is a common ground. Meeting with labels can be really funny though..I have had a lot of meetings with people who really don't seem to know what they are doing. They just pull a salary and never want to take a risk. I know someone who went from label to label (this person was a decision maker), but he never signed anyone. He always just handeled the artists he already had on the label.
I can understand the A & R position too, because they have families or lifestyle they are used to, so they don't want to risk it. I like to talk to those who like to take risks, although they are few and far between. I think the best option is to find an investor partner and do the radio pluggin, the shows and get the distribution seperatly.
don't get me wrong, I respect those in their positions, In fact I was an A & R once for a small music company. I just think if the industry is going to stay fresh, there has to be that investment in new talent. Some are doing it, and some are just scared to.
I wonder how it will turn out tomorrow. The good thing is that I'm in a position of strength, so I'm not really looking for a deal, just focusing on my craft and getting that undeniable buzz.
The Show on May 8th, went wicked! will have photos and video up soon.
I'm supposed to be meeting with a label this coming week...hmm..
not really that interested at the moment in labels, will have an open mind, but a little busy buildin the buzz...
Got my cd's back for radio promo from DJ Bigger, so in about a week he will start phoning the DJ's and giving the radio EP.
This is some behind the scenes footage of practicing with the band for the show on May 8th. I think we will be doing a lot more of these!
give me a break...ha ha. read more
